Only races in the Southeast Region (MS, AL, GA, TN, SC and panhandle of Florida) are included and only triathletes from these states are included. The winner of each race is the fastest male and female from the SE region. The process for being ranked is simple. One needs to compete in three Southeast Region USA Triathlon-sanctioned triathlons during the season to be included. The only shortfall is the race director who may not submit results in a usable format for our data entry folks to use. Male/female rankings are determined by taking the top SE male/female finisher's time divided by your time multiplied by 100 and this is called your "raw score." Raw scores are then multiplied by the contestant's rank. This calculation is done for each event in which an athlete competes. The final score is an average of the three best races completed. All races (event factor) are 90, 95, 100 or 105 points based on number of finishers not including relays (less than 100 finishers are worth 90 points; greater than 500 are worth 105 points). All club series races (http://www.usat-se.org/seriesClub.php) are 102 points unless number of finishers was high enough to grant 105 points. Your age is based on your age on 12/31. If you raced as an Elite at Chattanooga Waterfront, that race WILL NOT be included in your overall rankings. Athletes must race in the category in which they are registered with USAT. |
